My memories are crystal clear. I see it all. But I can no longer feel it.

Winter Explorations
We have been beating the Winter blues by getting out for hikes in our state parks, which are crowded and congested in warmer months. In the Winter, it's just a few quiet souls, out strolling, sauntering, or hiking. The trees are bare and the ground is brown, yet we see beauty we'd never see in green months. As we pick our way through icy, flooded, or muddy trails, we feel like kids on a playground. We pack a lunch and eat it on trail, enjoying the sound of birds and rushing water and nothing else. We have found something to absolutely love about winter--basically, beautiful places that feel like ours. It's been a great discovery for us, as we have contemplated moving somewhere warmer that would allow us to be outside more months of the year. For now, we're staying here where my job, our beautiful mortgage-free home, and our friends are. Make the most of where you are while you're there.

Beautiful sunset on Eagle Creek Reservoir, with a sycamore framing the photo. Just three miles from home!

The next day was warm, so we took a bike ride. For the first time since my wreck in 2015, I felt like I might enjoy biking again one day. Considering Hilly Hundred!
